Since 1981, Component Hardware Group has been designing and manufacturing new and innovative products for Original Equipment Manufacturers, Fabricators and end users in the Food Service, Commercial, Healthcare and Institutional markets worldwide. Our expertise in supply chain management and contract manufacturing allow us to service the specific needs of a broad range of customers with our World Class manufacturing sites.
CHG-Team employs over 30 full-time Engineers and SQA managers on site to oversee production and quality assurance in our factories, most of which are ISO 9001 certified. Our established supply base offers you a variety of production capabilities to suit just about any manufacturing requirement and our vast international distribution infrastructure permits us to deliver quality finished product where you need it-when you need it.
With over 250,000 feet of warehouse space in North America, CHG inventories over 9,000 cataloged plumbing and hardware items to suit your JIT delivery requirements. We also manufacture and stock a variety of specialty items, which are proprietary to individual customers.
Quality Assurance
CHG has a long-standing reputation for providing high quality components to its customers. Our quality assurance program insures that we can consistently provide our customers with products that meet or exceed their application requirements. All of our major factories are ISO 9001 certified and we maintain a staff of 30 full-time engineers to certify our factories and monitor the quality process from design to finished product.
CHG goes to great lengths to design and manufacture quality into our parts. When you get companies who are just importers with no design capabilities or an international infrastructure in place, quality issues will arise.
Engineering
CHG provides comprehensive customer support with on-site design and technical assistance to enable our customers to go from product concept to production without delay. Our engineers utilize state-of-the-art
SolidWorks 3-D CAD technology and stereolithography apparatus (SLA) to rapidly produce prototypes without incurring substantial tooling costs.
CHG’s innovative ideas have resulted in over 25 patented and 20 trademarked items including SANIGUARD® product protection (See below in product capabilites for more information), Encore® premium plumbing, Regal Ride™ casters, Grease Defender® hood filters, Drainmaster™ rotary drains and Quik-Wash™ hand sink faucet actuators.
Commitment to Inventory
In this age of JIT and lean manufacturing, CHG understands the need to have finished goods on the shelf at all times. We make a heavy investment in inventory, so you don’t have to. CHG maintains over 250,000 square feet of warehouse space in the U.S. and Canada to accommodate over 9,000 SKUs from stock, many of which are proprietary to individual customers. This, combined with our global supply chain and distribution network, assures our customers of an uninterrupted supply of products….any time, any where.
PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES
Die Casting
CHG has the ability to hot and cold chamber die cast non-ferrous metals, such as zinc, aluminum and brass to accommodate both performance and price objectives. Die casting is an efficient, economical process offering a broader range of shapes and components than any other manufacturing technique. Parts have long service life and may be designed to complement the visual appeal of the surrounding part. This method is ideally suited for high volume production runs where precision is required. Die Casting provides strong, durable parts, while allowing for thinner walls, closer dimensional limits and smoother surfaces than injection molding, sand casting or forging. Die Cast parts can be finished or plated with a minimum of surface preparation.
Machine Status
Zinc: 50 to 500 tons
Alum: 50 to 750 tons
Brass: 50 to 150 tons

Sand Casting
This is a popular and economical method of casting steel, stainless steel, brass or
aluminum components when finish and tolerances are not critical. The castings may be heat treated or shot peened to improve tensile strength and smooth the rough surfaces.
Investment Casting
Also known as “lost wax” casting, this method of casting is used when finish, tolerances, consistency and structural strength are primary considerations of the part. Investment Casting is typically used to produce
smaller parts. Tooling and molding costs generally make investment casting more expensive than die casting or sand casting, but can produce complicated shapes that require little rework or machining. Investment casting offers high production rates, particularly for small or highly complex components, and extremely good surface finish.
Stamping & Metal Forming
CHG provides turn-key metal stamping and forming services including: forming, piercing, notching, roll forming and deep drawing of aluminum, brass, steel and stainless steel products.

Plating & Powder Coating
CHGs metal finishing capabilities include zinc, nickel and chrome plating, electro-polishing, anodizing aluminum and powder coating in both epoxy and polyester. Our SANIGUARD® antimicrobial product protection may be applied as a powder coating to metal substrates or molded into plastic resin master batch. SANIGUARD® product protection inhibits the growth of bacteria, molds and fungi that can cause odors, staining and product deterioration.
SANIGUARD product protection is designed to keep the product fresher and cleaner between normal cleaning routines. It is not a disinfectant and will not protect users or others against food-borne illness or disease. Always use good hygiene and cleaning practices.
Forging![]()
Forging is the oldest metal working process known to man and is the term used for shaping metal by using localized compressive forces. Cold forging is done at room temperature or near room temperature. Hot forging is done at a high temperature, which makes metal easier to shape and less likely to fracture. Warm forging is done at intermediate temperature between room temperature and hot forging temperatures. Forged parts can range in size from 2 oz. to 3 lbs. Forged parts usually require further processing to achieve a finished part. Forging results in metal that is stronger than cast or machined metal parts and can impart a high strength-to-weight ratio.
Machining
Machining is a collection of material-working processes that
involve using power-driven machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and drill presses, to shape metal or plastic by removing excess material. Machining is a part of the manufacture of almost all metal products. Our machining services include milling, turning, drilling, grinding, tapping and routing of both metal and plastic components.
Plastic Injection Molding & Extruding
CHG has the ability to mold or extrude a variety of thermoplastic materials including ABS, polyethylene, nylon, polypropylene, PVC and more. Individual or multi-cavity dies can be developed to suit your individual production volumes. Tooling costs vary, but production piece costs are low.
Wire Forming
Wire forming is the process of stamping and bending wire into fabricated shapes to form
items such as clips, pulls, baskets, springs, specialty pins, rings, wire racks, hooks, and other custom wire products. The process is sometimes referred to as wire fabrication and can be performed manually with use of tooling or with the use of CNC machines. CHG can provide custom wire forming of steel, stainless steel, brass and aluminum.
Rapid Prototyping & Stereolithography (SLA)
Utilizing SolidWorks CAD design technology, CHG is able to create 3-D renderings and transform these into stereolithograph(SLA) samples in very short order. This process, which makes solid objects by successively “printing” thin layers of the ultraviolet curable material one on top of the other, allows our customers to physically view a prototype design without having to invest in expensive tooling.
COMPANY HISTORY
Welcome to CHG, home of SANIGUARD® antimicrobial product protection, Encore® premium plumbing and Flame Gard® grease filters and fire-rated duct access doors.
Based in Lakewood, New Jersey, CHG is a leading global manufacturer and distributor of specialty hardware and plumbing products serving the food service, institutional, commercial and healthcare markets.
In 1981, Component Hardware Group (CHG) was formed by a gathering of experienced specialists from the commercial foodservice hardware industry and the company grew rapidly. In 1997, CHG acquired Standard-Keil/Klein Hardware, making CHG one of the largest suppliers of specialty foodservice hardware in the world. Since then, CHG has continued to expand its high-quality line of specialty hardware and plumbing components to include well-known brand names such as Encore® premium plumbing, SANIGUARD® product protection, Flame Gard® filters and access doors, Quik-Wash™, SaniShower™, Regal Ride™ casters, Grease Defender® filters, TOP-LINE™ economy plumbing and Drainmaster™ rotary drains. Today, our products may be found in restaurants, cafeterias, schools, prisons, hospitals, assisted living facilities and on cruise ships throughout the world.
In 2004, CHG launched an innovative new product called SANIGUARD® antimicrobial product protection. Our SANIGUARD® product protection is an inorganic silver-ion technology for metal and plastic products and coatings, which inhibits the growth of microorganisms that can cause stains, odors, and product deterioration.
SANIGUARD® product protection is built right into the product during the manufacturing process and will not wash off or wear away. Under normal cleaning conditions, our SANIGUARD® product protection will provide continuous antimicrobial product protection for the useful life of the product. SANIGUARD® product protection may be applied as a powder coating to metal substrates or mixed with plastic resins for extruding and injection molding. SANIGUARD® product protection makes products easier to clean and keep them cleaner and fresher between cleanings. SANIGUARD® product protection is ideal for use on faucet and door handles, toilet flush valves, drawer pulls, drinking fountains and more.
SANIGUARD® antimicrobial product protection is designed to protect the product. It is not a disinfectant and will not protect users or others against food-borne illness or disease. Always use good hygiene and cleaning practices.
In 2008, CHG acquired the Flame Gard® grease filter and fire-rated duct access door product lines from Flame Gard, Inc. These high quality canopy hood products are some of the safest and most efficient cooking hood accessories on the market today. As a result, our Flame Gard™ brand products are specified by many of the largest food service chains throughout the world.
